Toddlerhood

This is what it seems I have to deal with lately:

Orien's personality has really developed lately. Well part of this development stage is trantrums! Fun stuff! He doesn't quite get what "discipline" means, so it's tricky to get him to listen. When we say "no", get looks at us and giggles or just does what he's not supposed to anyway. So we've started saying "no" and removing him from the situation. Consistency is the key!

It really tests your patience though. Babyhood was difficult, but I can see how toddlerhood will bring an entire new set of challenges. Of course the positives out-weigh the hard times!

But some days, I really just want to punch something. Thank God for naptime :)

  1. Hang in there. He will test you for a lonnnnng time. You are right consistency is the key. And patience. Once he gets the hang of the rules it will get a little easier. Pick your battles. If it is not a big deal then don't make it one. (he may be feeling the stress of the family situation right now too)

  2. Hmm. I'm glad Cady's not there yet. Right now we just do whatever she wants (unless she wants out of her car seat while we're driving in the car or doesn't want to sleep). I'll probably be asking you for advice when this happens to us.
