I have a 6 month old!!!!

Hey all!

I remember thinking for so long...I can't WAIT until my little boy is 6 mon. I just love that age! Well here he is, 6 months!!!!! His stats are: 17.8 lbs (50%), 75% length, 75% head. That's why lots of his shirts are hard to get over that massive (but cute) head of his.

A few new milestones to note...

1) sitting up! again, he still falls, but he makes progress daily!

2) grabbing for items (he's done this for 2 weeks now)

3) whining and/or crying if you take away an object he wanted - fun :)

4) reaching out to people - he has done this to his Maqui several times!

5) smiling at non-human things (ex- dogs) - he's done this for about a month now

6) laughing A LOT more!!!! LOVE IT!

7) eyeing our food and drinks; extremelyyyy interested in table food!!

8) and this week we've started him on Gerber 2nd foods which he gobbles down

Life is so fun with him! And my first week as a stay at home mom was wonderful. Tiring, yes, but so worth it and I can already tell he is more attached to me and loving his mommy time. We run errands together, went to Toys R Us to he could check out the fun toys, visit friends/fam, take walks, and today he went to the neighborhood park for the first time! The weather was finally a BIT cooler, which is SO NICE! We hung out on the swing with each other and it was a special moment. He leaned back on my chest and watched the trees and leaves blow around. It's one of those quiet moments I'll always have (mushy yess, but true). Some day I'll look back and miss when he was so small and cuddly. I hope he always is a little cuddler. I already get teary thinking about him growing up and not being a baby. That's part of the reason I wanted to be home right now. This precious baby time is so so special and FLIES BY. I am so blessed to be able to stay home. I am also incredibly appreciative of Brett for supporting me fully and working super hard to allow me to be with Orien. Brett knows it is best for him and encourages me daily. I am very lucky to have a mature, grounded, caring and (sometimes) funny man :)

Ok, off to run around like crazy doing housework since he's napping! Enjoy the latest photos! Love yall,

Patricia

Saturday @ the Children's Museum

This past Saturday we headed to the Children's Museum in town. They had a baby zone for infants and young toddlers. Orien loved it! It was also a germfest but I tried to get over that. He wasn't able to do too much besides check out the other babies and toddlers. His favorite part? THE MIRRORS! He could've sat there all day and stared and talked to his reflection (which I'm pretty sure he thought was another baby). He was so happy and content playing with mom and dad.

Below I posted a video of him sitting up happy and talking. He's really sitting up well lately, but he still falls. We're not at the point yet to where we can plop him down and leave him. He doesn't get the concept of being able to catch himself yet. AND when he gets really excited he kicks and falls backward (see video)! But we're getting there!

Today's my FIRST DAY as a fulltime mom!!! Andddd...I'm sick sadly. But I'm still able to be productive. Thankfully it's not the flu or anything. Alright, I need to run and get some things done while he naps! I'll check in soon.

BIG CHANGES

BIG CHANGES are happening around the Boettcher house!

I have decided to be a stay at home momma. I am very happy with this choice for our family and know it will benefit all of us greatly, especially little Orien.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. It means so much. We look forward to what this change will do to our lives as a family!

We're off to New Orleans tomorrow...so until next post...

Much love!

WE LOVE OUR LITTLE TRAVELER

Where did the last 8 months go?? Time is flying.

This has been a busy week for the Boettchers. Brett's been working 11 hour days, work & baby has kept me busy, the doggies are hyper as usual and now I need to begin the dreaded "packing". We're off to Slidell, LA Saturday morning to visit my mom's side of the family. It's something we've been looking forward to for a while.

Gone are the days of fast & easy packing. The word has an entirely new meaning with a baby. Burp rags, tylenol, toys, baby food, paci's, wipes, bibs, bottles, stroller...the list continues on! First on the list? 12 OUTFITS. If you've been around Orien, you know that actually may not be enough. Aunt Rhonda, I hope you don't mind if we use your washer, one or two or three times. I look forward to the days when our boy can keep an outfit on for the ENTIRE day! Won't that be amazing!

We'll be sure to document Orien's first Slidell trip with lots and lots of photos. I'm hoping he shows off that adorable, silly personality of his :) And I'm really hoping on the plane he sleeps. That would be nice. Then mom and dad could sleep & THAT would be extra nice!. He's a pro at flying now...this will be his 5th flight! Our little traveler!

Everyone have a HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND and be safe*

*I'm required to say that as a Momma

Love yall,
Patricia
