Bullet Points

* This afternoon I filled up a plastic baby pool and threw a bunch of O's boats in...that's all it takes to make my son completely content for an hour. I had to drag him out kicking and screaming. He kept playing like the boats were at the lake house and going to the ski lodge. I think he's ready to go!

* My health insurance is finally kicking in. Today I heard the beautiful words "copay." I about fainted when the lady called back and said your doctor visit will just be a $25 copay. (Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!) Usually for an appointment like that I'd be paying around $250, JUST to see him.

* Next Tuesday I'll have a consult/exam with Dr. Doctor. Ha. Guess he was bound to be a doctor. Anyway, he's a pain specialist who offices with my other doctor. I'm hoping to get some serious meds, shots, whatever sooner than later from him. Both docs will now work together to get everything back to where it should be. AMEN!

* Tomorrow I fly with Chel to Norman! I'm meeting a bunch of fam up there to watch Eric play in OU's Spring Game. (Hopefully they play him) My mom had t-shirts made. I'll take pics and post - they're cute. He's nervous and excited. All Saturday morning before the game they have activities and autograph signings. I pray I can make it the whole weekend without over doing it!

* I bought a CD called "Music Inspired by the Story", which is a 2-disc set of various popular Christian artists who sing about the stories in the Bible. It's AMAZING! My favorite is #2 and #10.

* I'm so glad my responsibilities have slowed down. For a while I was doing too much and trying to fight my own personal battle as well. Now the only thing other than mom/wife duties I need to focus on is leading Hospitality for RPC's Women's Ministry. I felt completely led to head up this team. One of my spiritual gifts is hospitality and another is leadership. This is a perfect fit. We have an event coming up next Tuesday that is going to be AWESOME. It's called "Just Between Us: Is It My Hormones or the Holy Spirit?" :)

* This summer, we are already looking forward to: lakehouse, a slow, laid-back schedule, seeing family, cooking out with friends, swimming in the backyard, play dates with moms and toddlers, a Galveston trip, Popsicles, and tank tops!

Easter

These are just some random pictures I found from earlier this year...

Easter 2012

This weekend was fairly low-key. O'Ryan had a birthday party, we all served at church, attended Easter service, ate dinner at Roadhouse, and hosted a family dinner Sunday afternoon. Most importantly we celebrated Christs' resurrection. It's only because of Him we have life. Eternal life!

Off to church

Easter morning I *tried* to sleep in after a rough night's sleep. (Somebody kept coming in my room!) O'Ryan and Brett got up early and watched the Lion King. Right as I woke up Brett was making some pancakes and coffee :) Good timing on my part. After I refueled, O'Ryan did a little egg hunt in the backyard. As you can see from the photos below, he was pretty excited. Doesn't take much.

We decided not to do Easter gifts or baskets - just an egg hunt. I feel it's a good balance between the real meaning of Easter and the secular things that come along with the holiday. And really, the thought of him receiving gifts on the sacred day WE received the greatest gift of all, doesn't sit well with me. Plus, he just got like 1,001 presents from his birthday. We still don't know where to put it all...

This was the other day... hanging at my mom's.

Around the house...

View from Post Oak Grill - who knew?! We went on a fancy little date last week. SO MUCH FUN.

Good Friday at my mom's.

Beau supporting Eric, lol.
"OU"

Before cookie...

After...

(He dances every time he eats something really good, LOL. Okay, maybe I do that too.)

OMG my boy is adorable!!!

He spotted more butterflies! There were a TON in my mom's backyard :)

Little putt-putter. He was the best one out of us three. That's probably because he would put the ball right next to the hole every time and knock it in, ha.

After putt putt we cranked the music up and drove down 99. We ended up pulling over to say hi to some longhorns at the George Ranch.

Hope you enjoyed your long weekend!

The Weekend

Blogging has been put on the back-burner, but I wanted to give a weekend wrap up!

This past weekend David was allowed to view OU's football team practices. David's birthday was Friday. He said it was the best gift he could have received - to watch his son play on the football team of his alma mater. In two weeks I fly up to see Eric play in the Spring Game with my fam!!!! SOO excited.

Off to church!

Patricia update: Still living in the world of headaches and pain but I really do think relief is around the corner. I'm working closely with my new doc and massage therapist to get all of these mess under control. With God on my side, I know I'll be okay. I mean He conquered the WORLD...so He can fix this.

My mom thought it would be fun to buy David an old saddle for his birthday. Hm. Kinda odd, kinda cool.

Something that IS super cool is my mom's butterfly garden. She's had one since I was in HS. If you've never had one, let me tell you, they are sooooooo awesome! It's educational, beautiful and so so fun to watch! My mom has lots of the milk weed plant in her backyard, which eventually gets covered in these striped black and yellow caterpillars. They start out teeny and quickly become plump after chomping on the milk weed. Then they (usually) crawl to a quiet, secluded place to form their cocoon. This guy below must have been either really brave or just really confused. He chose to put his cocoon right on the bottom of the back door frame. My mom as FOUR dogs. That are just that height. And they go in and out a LOT. Poor guy. He's survived so far. You can't see it in this pic unless you have superman vision, but every cocoon has gorgeous gold specks on them!!

Today we went to my mom's for David's b-day lunch. If you haven't noticed it is H-O-T out. The pool was just calling our names! Here Maqui was showing O the caterpillars. It's awesome because the Monarch butterflies fly all around the backyard once they come out of their cocoons. They're so beautiful.

He wanted a wine glass for his drink :)

Me: "Smile for the picture!"
O: "Groooooowl!!!!"

Hey little guy, or big guy.

We like to give fun gifts, especially to people like David who are difficult to buy for. See the super soaker squirt thing Chel has? That was David's present :) Go to Academy NOW and buy them. They have mini ones too. They come in handy when your kids (or dogs) don't listen.

This summer is gonna be FUN. He's three now and just loves the pool.

Virgin pina colada. Yum yum.

Momma & Chel

Gift was a hit.

My boy and his grandparents.

It was a great weekend with dinners with friends, church, volunteering, swimming and home team. Can't ask for any more than that!
