3am

I should really stop blogging at 3am. Lately I've been SO worn out that I go to bed by 7 or 8pm. Then I wake up at 3 or 4am ready to go! So here I am blogging again in the dead of night.

Here's a list of some fun things our man has been doing lately:

1. Kisses everything, including the Christmas tree
2. Plays basketball nonstop and adds in his own break dance moves too
3. Lines trucks up like a train allll over the house
4. He loves moving toys from one container to the next
5. Loves sliding lately
6. Says "woah" a lot - it's so funny!
7. Really liking books more and more - he brings a huge pile to me to read to him every night
8. Tries to count
9. Whenever he sees any animal he says the name of it and then makes the sound
10. Wakes up asking about Qui Qui and goes to bed asking about Qui Qui :)

This is one of my favorite pictures of him recently. We were playing at the neighborhood park yesterday and I caught this sweet moment.

Support System

What a whirrrrlwind of a week! I've neglected my blog, which is rare.

Thanks to my daily migraines, I was sent to the ER last Saturday. After being pumped with loads of pain med, I was released only to feel even worse that I had before. The pain meds made me feel some really bad side effects. Thankfully last week friends and family came together to help me. I couldn't care for Orien myself due to the pain. I am so appreciative for everyone who has assisted me during this time.

Thursday was probably the worst day. I was hit hard with another horrible migraine. I seriously wanted to just die! Not literally but it was extremely painful. A mixture of pain pills and an Imatrax (sp?) shot in my leg finally made the migraine subside. It did come back later but at least I had some relief so I could nap. I went to bed at 7pm and slept until 6am that night. That is so rare for me. I think my body was so physically and emotionally worn out, I just slept and slept.

Since Friday I've had the pain under control for the most part. The headache starts in the morning, but I can stop it with a mixture of meds. So the plan is to meet with a new doctor (ENT doc/allergist) Monday and see if he thinks this could be allergies. If so, I need to possibly get allergy shots. I have a feeling that is what is causing all of this. I think stress may be a factor as well.

It still amazes me how supported and loved I am. I should know by now, especially with what we went through with Brett, that there are so many people who are willing to step up and help. But I am still constantly surprised at the amount of love and care we receive! My family comes right in and helps us without a complaint. Friends text, call and send messages saying they are praying and can babysit. My church lets me know they are behind me and there for whatever I need. And all of these people mean it. Sometimes people can simply talk the talk but not walk the walk. Well we are fortunate to be surrounded by an amazing support system that really is there when we need them to be.

Orien has been awesome lately. He's always awesome, but he's been extra sweet and "kissy" lately :) He kisses everyyyything, including baby Jesus from our nativity and our Christmas tree. I think it's safe to say O will grow up having a love for Christmas just like his parents. He carries Jesus around with him and cuddles him and gives him his juice. He says "baby" "baby". He loves him! Too funny.

So I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to each one of you who has offered help, love, prayers, support and care. Seriously it's what has gotten me through this very tough week. You all are SO appreciated!!!!!!!

One more note...Orien is obsessed with watching America's Funniest Videos! This photo above is Daddy and Orien watching it. He will zone out and laugh and then sign "more" when the videos stop. Lol. He cracks me up. I love love this age! And for the first time I'm really not wanting him to get any older! I'm taking in every moment and loving all of his precious kisses.

Blurry Photos & Saying "Merry Christmas"

I've had zero desire to bust out our big camera lately. I love it but it's so bulky! And usually I only have time to capture the fast-passing moment with my phone that's normally nearby. So blurry, fuzzy photos it is.

Are y'all sick of Orien pictures yet?

Good.

Watching Emerson for a bit :)

Peek-a-boo.

"choo choo"

Well Christmas time is in full swing. The malls are packed every hour of every day, lights are up all over town, Town Square is holding its Annual Tree Lighting tonight in the Plaza, and Sunny 99.1 is now playing Christmas music 24/7.

I usually stay away from controversial topics on my blog, but this is what I don't understand.

Why not "Merry Christmas?"

I mean, it IS Christmas time. And the reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ! Yes, there are other holidays (Hanukkah and more) around this time. But it doesn't mean we have to clump all of the different religion's holidays into one saying - "Happy Holidays."

In recent years America has made a big push to be extra tolerant of all religions and their practices. That is great! Most people support and applaud that, including myself! But why does Christmas take the beating? Simply put, it's another religious holiday that should be openly celebrated. So please, stores, media, politicians, please please don't rid of "Merry Christmas." The birth of Christ changed the world and mankind for eternity. Please don't belittle that miraculous event by saying "Happy Holidays."

Keep the CHRIST in Christmas.

After all, that's what it's about!

Boats & Build-A-Bear

We've had a lot of fun the past week.

Orien looking half cool, half goofy in his sunglasses Uncle D and Aunt Gigi gave him.

One of his favorite things lately.

"boat, boat, boat, boat"

The lake was a big hit as always.

Looking for boats.

Someone has the best Parrain ever!!!! New swing Eric put up. And he has the cuts to prove it (he fell off the latter).

Being a boy.

Cold front arrived!

Orien surprisingly loved his hat. He kept bringing it to me and pointing to his head. Then he would bend forward so I could put it on for him.

Happy to be back home!

Backyard drive.

No, he's not dead. Just meditating.

Checking out life from a different angle.

First trip to Build-A-Bear was a success! Even found a mini BOY stroller. Y'all know that's a huge hit with this little man.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
two days late!
